CARE Hospitals,Hyderabad completes 200 Kidney transplants in the city..........

CARE Hospitals,Hyderabad has  successfully carried out 200 kidney transplants. With this CARE Hospital has become one of the best centers in the city with best outcomes in Kidney Transplants.
The 200th transplant was performed on a  26-year-old patient, who was suffering from kidney failure due to some allergy, by senior consultant urologist Dr K Rama Raju. The donor's kidney was harvested (taken out from the donor) by Consultant Urologist & transplant surgeon Dr K Rama Raju  with support from other team of doctors. The patient, prior to the transplant, was being treated by senior consultant Nephrologist Dr. Rajsekhara Chackravarthy.
"Although kidney transplant is a high-end surgery, chances of organ rejection are minimal due to availability of extremely good medicines. It is one of the safest organ transplant operations. But since the recipient is put on immuno-suppressant medicines for preventing rejection, the person needs extremely good post operative care. Patient is kept in dedicated renal intensive care unit," said Dr Rajsekhara Chackravarthy
“Renal transplantation is the best modality of treatment as a successful renal transplant provides a better quality of life, is more cost effective and provides long term rehabilitation as compared to dialysis dependence. After a successful transplant one has greater freedom, less restricted diet and better energy levels” said Dr. Vikrant Reddy, Consultant Nephrologist at CARE Hospitals. The common symptoms of  for Kidney Failure & end stage renal disease include Urinating less than usual,Urinary problems - Frequency, urgency,Bleeding Fatigue & Confusion,Nausea, vomiting,Loss of appetite,Pain - In the muscles, joints, flanks, chest,Bone pain or fractures,Pale skin (from anemia).
According to Dr. B. Somaraju,Chairman & Managing Director “The kidney transplant is one more step in bringing all latest available treatment facilities under one roof and providing quality services. Organ donation could result from the free will of a person. There are almost 3 to 4 lac people who require a kidney to live their lives; out of these, only around 15 to 20 will stand a chance of getting an organ from a cadaver.  There is nothing in this world that can be compared to the feeling that one gets by saving someone else’s life. You could call this a job for a super hero. And that super hero is— you”
The State-of-the-art procedures for kidney transplantation include:
ñ  Living donor kidney transplants (related)
ñ  Cadaveric renal transplantation
In the first 10 years of the Renal transplant programme CARE Hospitals have performed over 200 transplants. The results compare favorably with those of the best centers in India & world
